So addicted!

I've been working on the free class I told you guys about. The Big Idea Festival over at Big Picture Classes. It's a free workshop that aims to inspire with one word every day. Well, I've never really done digital scrapbooking before but I decided to use the My Memories Suite software (click here for a chance to win it) and do this completely digital.
We're on day 6 now. Here's what I've got so far:

Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend. Take time to enjoy everything you treasure!

Totally inspired!

Is everyone happy that the weekend is almost here?!
I wanted to share a couple things with you all.
First I just found out about this free workshop with Big Picture Classes called the Big Idea Festival
You get a word of the day to inspire you and a video with a message from the instructor of the day. It goes on for 12 days and you can register any time in between. You end up with a mini album of 12 inspirational words.  Oh yea, if you upload what you make to their gallery you get a chance at winning a prize!
Check it out! I made this is for day one. My second all digital project!

I made it with My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking software. I'm giving one away, Check it out! Those hexagons are made with background papers included in the software. This is getting addictive! I love that there's stitching and all kinds of great embellishments that make something digital look so hand made! The hexagons were easy because you can copy and paste the shape and change the paper later. The stitching in between the hexagons was a little tedious but I do tedious stuff with regular scrapbooking all the time! I'll post the card I've been working on soon. You'll see what I mean!

Of course, for the big picture classes you can do paper or digital projects. They give you templates that work for both formats.

Oh, I was inspired to use hexagons because of this post on Moxie Fab World

I hope you've found something you like here!

Check out my giveaway! You don't want to miss out on this software!

My Memories Giveaway!!! You want to win this one!

Hey Everyone!
Ready for another giveaway?!
I'm giving away a digital scrapbooking software called My Memories Suite.

I've been playing with it and so far I love it! I'm really a paper, glue and glimmer mist kind of girl but I tried this software and I'm pretty hooked! I don't think it's about replacing traditional scrapbooking. It's about enhancing it and using it in different ways.
*This one is only for U.S and Canada residents due to zoning restrictions on the software. Sorry my international friends :(*

I had a quick play with it and this is what I made yesterday afternoon:

How cute is my little nephew?! I'm emailing his mom this page as soon as I'm done here :)
With this software I can make layouts and send them to friends and family all over the world for free!  I can also print out the digital albums into a cool greeting card, photo book or calendar!

This definitely has potential! It took me about 15 minutes, that includes fussing over where to put the embellishments and getting those stitch lines around the pic just where I want them. First time using it! Not bad, huh?!
This software comes with so many embellishments and papers already, but they have some extra free kits you can download on their site...for free! So if you win this for free, you'll have such a great time and tons of new digital stash that you can always print out and use in a traditional scrapbook ;) for free! Did I mention, I'm giving one away for free?!

Let me tell you! What got me the most excited about this is that you can add videos and music to your album. Then when you click on the picture, your video shows! You can turn your finished scrapbook into an interactive movie and watch it on a dvd or ipod. What a great way to actually use those movie clips on your digital cameras that are just sitting around in your computer! I already have a specific video/photo combo in mind from my recent vacation ;)

To enter my giveaway:

You need to do both these things:
Advertise: Put this giveaway on your sidebar or make a blog post about it
Visit My Memories.com: Look at all the great digital scrapbooking kits! wow, check out those layouts in the gallery!. Come back and tell me which kit or layout was your favorite.

For an extra entry:
Follow the My Memories blog - they have great weekly challenges with prizes!

Total 2 entries per person.
Leave a separate comment for each entry

I'll choose a winner using Random.org on September 3rd.

*Just to let you all know, I was contacted by My Memories to do this giveaway. I got the software for free to try. The review I gave is really how I feel about it.*

Want to learn more? watch this:

If you really must have this software now, copy and paste this code when ordering: STMMMS53520
You'll get $10 off towards the purchase of the software (retails at $39.97). Plus you'll get a $10 coupon for the MyMemories.com store.
*coupon is good for MyMemoriesSuite V. 2.0 for U.S and Canadian customers only

Good luck everyone!

WOYWW 114?!!!

Hello WOYWWers!!!
114?! Wow! Where have I been?
I've missed you all! I hope everyone is doing well :) I'm glad to go visit old blogland friends as soon as I'm done here.
So much on my desk today....Let's see....

I'm bringing hypotrochoids back (those little repeating circular patterns)...It would be great if it caught on as the next hot scrapbooking trend, you saw it here first! LOL
I'm bringing it back in my own work at least ;)

I still have the LO from yesterday on the desk, some more pictures to scrap, those Maya Road acrylic shapes are still out too...geez, I need to clean up! ooh...there's some cookies I brought back from Italy. They're apricot flavor and they're delicious!

LOL...look at my calendar! It's so behind!

oh yeah...in case you don't know me, that starbucks cup is actually just for my mp3 player. The top of the cup is a speaker!

I see some of that hand dyed seam binding I got from the scrapbooking cottage and some lip balm.

oh yeah...the Paris scarf is covering my canvases...I'll show them to you sometime ;)

wow, I just noticed my mess is on the floor too!

Ok, I'm off to see what's on your desks today. If you've stumbled upon this check out Julia's blog to see what I'm talking about!

The Best of Naples

I finally coaxed my mojo back from his extended vacation. I gotta stop taking my crafting time for granted.

Some of the most amazing times we had were in Naples. We hiked Mt. Vesuvius, visited Pompeii, had pizza at l'Antica Pizzeria da Michelle (yes, from the movie Eat, Pray, Love and yes, it was delicious!) and we had gelato. All in that order! Naples definitely had a lot to offer.

I was inspired by the sketch posted at the DCWV blog for their monthly sketch challenge. It's going on until the 29th so you have plenty of time to enter.

Cardstock: DCWV World Traveler stack and
The Pets stack (brown and blue strip).

An unusual souvenir

Hello everyone!
Let me start at the beginning...I've recently started saving packages from my scrapbooking supplies to alter and re use in different ways. I never got to alter any packages before going on vacation. Then, a few weeks ago we were in Athens, Greece and my husband decided to bring a somewhat unusual souvenir....Shhh!

Here's the little souvenir... I'm not saying which one it is. I used the paper inside the packaging and traced it on a piece of scrapbooking paper to make the new background. On the right you can see how I kept it in place. I sewed it around the main branch in a few places.

The end result...well, almost. I'm going to write the date and location. I'm also going to cover the back with a matching piece of paper and maybe a small picture of us at the location...

Since we got back, my creative mojo is nowhere to be found! Haven't done a single LO yet, despite actually having printed pictures. How sad!

Whether my mojo wanted to show up or not, I needed a wedding card for my husband's cousin. I know full well she won't see this, so I feel I can show you guys.

Cardstock, sticker, border punch and bling are all by Recollections from Michaels

The cardstock is a pearly, shimmery white and the accent and envelope are shimmery silver. The cake is actually a sticker that comes with bling. The added bling are clear hearts. I made the card with a flap and punched the edge, then I added a silver strip underneath, also punched. I made the envelope with my Enveloper, which has the little designs to emboss on the envelopes.

oh, yeah...here's the inside:

'Two people who belong together make a world- Hans Margolius'
That's all for today! Stay out of the heat!
