Can't wait to see you again

Image
My husband goes on business trips once in a while. Every time, I put a card in his suitcase with a photo of us inside. This time, I did it a little differently. I used a DCWV envelope from the Vintage Collector line. I decorated the back of it. Here's the card that goes inside:  I used the Chalk Fun stack. These are the contents of the envelope:   Vintage Collector Envelopes (Michaels) and the Chalk Fun stack (Hobby Lobby):

Curly fries and shakes

My friend Pauline visited us from France last November. We took her on Route 66 to the filming site of Baghdad Cafe. We took a detour and ate at this cafe which happens to be a little off Route 66. It's full of American memorabilia and lots of souvenirs. I LOVE the 50's. I have the whole "I love Lucy" collection. Love the fashion too. That gave me the idea to decorate this dress form from Basically Bare  as a 50's style dress.  In the journaling I wrote about the milkshakes and curly fries. Pauline tried a milk shake almost everywhere we went. She deemed these the best milkshakes we had the whole trip. The curly fires were a big surprise for her, because she had never seen them before.  I used the Chalk Fun stack out at Hobby Lobby:

The Art of Traveling

I really wanted to do a mini album with my pictures from the art I've had the pleasure to see throughout my trips. Mostly I travel to specific places to see certain pieces of art (and sometimes, I just bump into cool art by pure luck). I took art history classes and was never able to let go of the desire to see things in person. So here are a few highlights from the album:   Hope you have a great rest of the week and some time to get crafty! I used the DCWV Vintage Lane stack:

Picture Perfect

It's the first weekend of April, that means a new challenge over at DCWV :)  Here are the sketches for this month:  I only got to make a LO this month. This is my take on the sketch: I used the Chalk Fun stack from Hobby Lobby.  I left a space for journaling hidden behind the photo.  All the embellishments I used on the page are cut out from the stack. The shapes are pretty easy to cut, I did it while watching tv.    That was a fun LO to make!  Hope you give the sketch a try :)
