Gold and Cork bloghop with Tombow and DCWV

Hello and Welcome to the Gold and Cork Blog Hop with Tombow USA and DCWV! We have 2 days full with gorgeous projects using GOLD and CORK! You probably came here from Marie Browning's blog but if you happened to stumble across my blog go to the DCWV Blog to start!

Thanks for joining us today,
hope you find some inspiration and new ways to use your supplies.

I made a mini book using the kraft mini album from the DCWV Insta Photo Fun line. Then, I decorated the cover with a washi tape frame and die cuts from the DCWV memory book 'Brights.' (There are awesome shaped vellum stickers in the memory book!)

I added the gold on the owl and the frame. Here's how I did that:
(If you're a fan of tombow, you may have seen my post about this technique on their facebook page a few weeks ago)

I dabbed Tombow mono liquid glue on all the spots I wanted to make golden. I just used the pen tip applicator. The glue stays tacky when dry, so it's perfect for this application.

When the glue turned clear, I applied the gold leaf following the instructions on my package.
Some of the edges of the gilded areas needed to be cleaned up a bit. I just pushed the gold leafing with my nail to make a neater edge.

I  finished it off with a ribbon & twine bow. The gold ribbon is from May arts and I love it, I'm stingy with it.

The Tombow foam tape roll is awesome. I put 2 lines of  Tombow foam tape behind the owl and it's on for good! It's great being able to cut my foam tape to the size I need. I was able to just tear it with my hands. I love it when I can use my hands as tools.

This is the 'title page' of my mini. I plan to put in fun, random photos of good times with no particular theme. I print a ton of photos, especially when there are 100 free prints offers from Shutterfly. That's my favorite site.

I made my own pages by cutting out 4x5 pieces of my favorite patterns and attached them back to back using the  Tombow Xtreme adhesive.

I also cut and punched the journaling cards from the DCWV Gilded Paper stack and added them to my mini to make sure I have different size pages to give it more interest. I glued the cards back to back, and just like the pages, I used Tombow Xtreme adhesive to glue them.

I applied it in a few spots around the paper and in the middle. It held on great, I didn't need to go all around the edge.

I love neutrals...dress them up, dress them down!

I left one page as a pocket to slide in some memorabilia or extra photos.

I hand cut and die cut some embellishments out of the 6x6 adhesive cork stack. I only added a few now but I cut more to embellish after I add photos and journaling.

The tabs and vellum pages are from the DCWV DIY Mini Book Project Stack. The Butterfly is from the DCWV DIY Birds and Butterflies project stack.

The sequin ribbon was so slippery my regular glue and glue dots wouldn't hold them down so I used the Tombow Xtreme adhesive (again!) and that worked great.

I tried to stick with gold, kraft and pink for the color scheme.

The cork on gold looks so great! I love the combination of natural and metallic.
(Any DCWV cork die cuts beautifully!)

I'm planning to put photos behind these bigger quote pages.

DCWV will be giving away: The DCWV Gilded Stack, a 4x4 Cork Stack, Insta Kraft Album, Accordion Album and a set of Birthday Photo Props!
