Ah! Finally back! ...and challenge

Image
Hello everyone! Life has been busy around here the last few months. Had a full load in school and was almost falling behind at the end. Haha! It's funny now, but it wasn't too funny a few weeks ago! And this last week, one of my dogs somehow cracked a tooth and had to get it removed! Poor baby had surgery yesterday, but he is such a trooper and he's almost back to normal! The price tag on that surgery was not funny either! I have so many things to put together for a giveaway...I have to get that set up so we can try to get it done before the new year. I'll be back with more on that later...for  now I have a challenge to share. I love the challenges over at DCWV and The Paper Variety ! So I'm submitting this one for both ;) This is for DCWV's December stack-a-holic challenge  and the Paper Variety's Anything Goes! challenge :   I used the Heirloom and World Traveler stacks from DCWV. Maya Road ribbon, pin and chipboard heart with cream metallic...

Maya Road sale again!

Image
Here's the link in case any of you are interested! I love these warehouse sale boxes and purchased another one! http://www.mayaroad.net/index.php?main_page=storefront They were half gone yesterday! Hurry, if you want one! I blogged about it:  http://madebykarla10.blogspot.com/2011/10/look-inside-maya-road-warehouse-sale.html You can get an idea of what will be in the box....some similar items. They said this is the last sale until spring 2012! I get nothing for blogging about it, there's no contest or giveaway. I just do it because I love this stuff and I think some of you girls will too. Check them out! Oh and their customer service is awesome ;) Be back to blogging with a giveaway in a couple weeks. Right after finals! See you soon!

WOYWW 126...what happened to the last one?

Image
Wow! I thought I was on top of everything and I got my WOYWW posts done 2 weeks in a row...Guess not! Somehow WOYWW 125 slipped right through...but my desk looks almost the same. Here's my poor desk. I did manage to clean it up a little. I'm almost done with the magazine holder...just gotta make it pretty now. Still working on that little mini album with the big flowers. The stickers, paper and labels are from a kit I subscribe to. Love those sticker things, they're called Dazzles :) If you want to know why I'm showing you my desk go see Julia at The Stamping Ground :) Wednesday is snooping day and we get to see crafters' desks from all over the world!

Omg...so embarrassing! The state of my desk is just disgraceful! I'm not living up to the 'neat' reputation I had going here. LOL  But that's OK! I wanted to show you my desk anyway because there are some things on it that I'm very proud of.    First : I just got a pink ATG gun! Ah! I’m so excited! Second : Recycling. I’m making a magazine rack out of a cereal box again. This time, I’m covering it with some packaging paper that came in a shipment I received and then I’m stamping on the paper to decorate. (That's the brown box on the right on top of the pile of stuff).  I also have a box that used to hold a roll of aluminum foil. we finished the roll and I'm going to dress up the box with scrapbooking paper and ribbon and use it as a gift box for some mini cupcakes.        Like this:    Third : I rolled my loose ribbons and those with broken spools on to some traditional clothespins and used florist pins to keep the ribbon i...

A look inside a Maya Road warehouse sale box

Image
I'm a big fan of Maya Road , I think they have the coolest products, most of which can be customized to fit your projects. I don't think they've ever made anything 'ugly.' That's my opinion anyway. Once in a while they have these awesome sales where you purchase a 'surprise' box for about US$40-$50. They sell out super fast because they are so worth it. I must have been one of the first ten people to buy a box when they announced the sale on Tuesday and they were all sold out by Thursday! I got my box on Friday. Super fast, right? If you want to find out about the next sale, sign up for their newsletter or like them on facebook . I thought I should let you all in on the great deal ;) I made a video so you can see all the goodies in the box Might have to have a giveaway soon since I have doubles of some things from the previous sale and that I've bought on my own...I'll let you know when I put it together ;)

Steampunk Pretty

I'm very excited to show you all my steampunk mini album. It's a very fitting end of summer celebration for me. I get to go back to school later today and I'm not happy about that! But I'll try to make the best of it and sneak in some time to craft ;) Inside, the album is decorated with as many gears and movable parts as I could include. Each page or set of pages has a theme and they're based on photos that my husband took during our summer trip. He takes beautiful, interesting pictures of random things. I've been wanting to do a mini album for a while with those pictures.Of course there are many more pictures than I can fit in one album, but these are some of my favorites. What did I use? The album is from Maya Road and the stickers are dazzles from Hot off the Press .I used lots of Tim Holtz sprocket gears, game spinners, ball chain and locks & keys. Also used Maya Road trinkets flower elements, Distress inks in tea dye and antique linen(ribbon), Ta...

How sweet!

Image
I think it's so sweet when people think of me when they receive a blog award. Thank you, Pendra for thinking of me and giving me this: With this award come 12 questions. It's so fun because you get to know your fellow bloggers just a little bit better. Here we go.... Q1) Name your favorite color?      Purple and yellow and green. Crafters rarely choose just one color, right? Q2) Name your favorite so ng?       Can't Stop by the Red Hot Chili Peppers The video is inspired by one minute of sculptures by Erwin Wurm . It's not just junk ;) Still the video is not my favorite, but the song is. Q3) Name your favorite dessert?      Gelato! chocolate, pistachio and hazelnut/chocolate flavors. Q4) What wizzes you off at the moment?       Some parents of the newer generations who are not teaching their children manners or respect. Q5) Your favorite pet?       I have 3 dogs and I ...

Hello! What a weekend! I went to Vegas for the weekend to celebrate my friend's birthday. We had a blast and even managed a visit to Death Valley on the way back.
