Spring Hike

Image
I found the perfect picture to scrap for this week's challenge at The Paper Variety . It's my husband and I hiking at my favorite trail which ends at a waterfall and a tiny pool of water and stream. It's not a difficult hike unless it's really hot. It's beautiful all year long and there's deer and lots of wild life to spot on the trails. Anyway....here's the challenge: I chose to make a layout with spring colors and a stamped image and sentiment. But my layout also includes birds and scallops! yay! Here's my entry: So I was hoping to beat my LO and crocheted toy count from last week (4 LOs and 2 toys) but  this week I've done 4 layouts but no toys :( oh well! you can't win 'em all right?! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Zoe In Pink

Image
I just love this picture of my dog, Zoe. I love the pink background and the fact that she's looking right at the camera, not to mention that she actually stayed still for the picture and didn't drop the hat! I've been wanting to scrap it for a while but I just recently printed it. When I saw this sketch at the Pixie Dust Paperie , I knew I wanted to use it for this picture. It's such a fun sketch to work with! Here's my take on it: The bracket on the right is hidden journaling, the ribbon is hand dyed seam binding and lace. I hope you check out the  Pixie Dust Paperie  they have some awesome giveaways too.

What I've been up to...

So I've had some much needed time off from school. I've been neglecting blogland a little because I feel like I should be crafting instead. While I'm in school, checking my blog (and yours) is my way of procrastinating (hehe). I get so inspired that when I have time off I can't wait to get my hands on some paper and yarn! So last week I crafted a lot! and hopefully the coming week, I'll be at my scrapbooking desk promptly after work and will not leave it until somene drags me off kicking and screaming! LoL... This is what I was up to this last week...  This LO is way overdue! This was my DH b-day party in Dec. 09!I used the sketch from The Paper Variety and I'm entering in their challenge. Go check them out, I love their challenges.  This layout is Christmas 2010,our dogs in their outfits. Part of the Journaling says 'A house is not a home without a dog...or two or three...' haha!  Here are the doggies again. I was having fun with this LO. I ra...

My Ribbon Storage

Image
I love ribbon! I have a lot of ribbon, the big spools on a rack and some packages in a basket. I keep the small spools, loose fibers and some trim in a drawer that is part of my 12x12 storage unit. I like to be able to open the drawer and look at my options. If you want to share your ribbon storage idea link it here and get a chance to win a March ribbon club assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon . Hope you join in!

Scrap Our Stash Update

Image
I'm late, I'm late! To post for February's Scrap Our Stash over at Denise's blog . I've done ok, I could have done better but then I shopped online a bit...and at the store a bit...but I think it was better than January and I hope March will be better still. Here's some projects that I made with my stash: This is the Colorful Life Stack by DCWV, first page out of it that I used! Some fibers, pins, chipboard and paint all from my stash. Even the frame is from my stash! This is the Cotton Bloom stack by DCWV, also the first papers out of it that I've used. Craft paper, pen, deco scissors and stamps all from my stash! American Crafts Botanique kit, chipboard and hand made embellies all from my stash I really like participating in this challenge. When I'm tempted to buy stuff that I don't need, I think of this challenge and all the other crafters who are participating and it gives me a little more strenght! Thank you all! XO...
