Winners!!!

Image
Hello everyone! I have the lucky winners here! Everyone got up to 3 entries: one for leaving a comment, one for following and one for posting my candy on your sidebar. I went through all your blogs and looked to make sure everyone got as many entries as they deserved. Then everyone got a number for every entry, so if you had 3 entries and you were number one, your numbers would have been 1, 2 and 3. So the next person would start at 4 and so on. Then I used Random.org to draw 2 numbers, the numbers corresponded to...... Winner number 1 who won the grand prize is:                Stacy H-W    Congratulations Stacy!!!!  Winner number 2 who won the small prize package is:                     Christine America Real      Congratulations Christine!!!  Stacy and Christine, please contact me (madebykarla@gmail.com) by next Monday, Au...

Willowing

Last year, I was lucky enough to find out about this site on Ning :  http://willowing.ning.com/ Tam is an amazing person. She teaches online art classes and she opened up a free course! I think that was so generous of her. I can just imagine how much time she took to give such a good class. Tam decided to leave the class open indefinitely so you can still join. It's done through recorded videos. She also offers many other classes so be sure to check it out! Here's her blog  http://willowinglove.blogspot.com/ Hope to see you on Willowing!

Finally getting crafty!

Hello, I got a Maya Road warehouse sale box a little while ago. There was so much great stuff I have't played with yet. What intrigued me the most were these little clear acrylic key chains with summer shapes. I had no idea what I was going to do with them. So I asked the experts! I went to the Maya Road facebook page and asked them! Some of the ideas included using staz on inks, copics, and alcohol inks. The suggestion I liked the most was to put crystal laquer and put glitter on one side. So I put dimensional magic on them and tried 3 different things: microbeads, glitter and flock Here's how they turned out: Front Back You can tell I like chocolate ice cream huh? There's also a little beach bucket, not sure what to do with that one yet....

Last addition and a little surprise!

So I decided that I wanted to add one more little thing to my giveaway. I love using pearls on my cards and LOs so I got this pack of pearls to add. Also, I've been pleasantly surprised by the number of entries in my giveaway. So, I decided to add a little prize for another random winner. It's something small but I'm sure whoever gets it will make good use of it! Thank you to all who entered and those who follow. If you're following me, I'm following you back. I'm glad to have found your blogs, you're so talented! I've seen some beautiful creations while browsing through your blogs. You still have a little time to join in my candy. click the link on my sidebar and comment on that post! Candy entries end July 29 at midnight California time. Good Luck to all!

Hey! I'm back!

Feels great to be home! I was gone for 3 weeks. It's only been a few days since I came back. I was jet lagged for 2 of them but I managed to re-adjust my schedule after the second night. We had a great trip and one of the best experiences was hiking to the crater of Mt. Vesuvius. It was tough in the heat but so worth it! You can feel the heat at the crater and the view is wonderful.Coming down was so much easier but very slippery! Hiking up Mt. Vesuvius Made it up to the crater! The view!  One of the most relaxing days was when we went to Mykonos. It was beautiful, cool, and the people were friendly. I have so many places to tell you about, but I think it's going to take some time :) Had some coffee and ice cream at this beautiful place Tried some oregano flavored chips The view. Look at the color of the water! Here's a few pictures for now. I'll get around to posting more soon! I'm gonna try to get some pictures printed so I can start scra...

Hello from the Agean

Hello Everyone, I feel like I've missed so much! I can't wait to see what you all have been up to for the last few weeks. I'm lucky to have a chance to write a little note to you all. I've checked my email and I saw all the comments you left while I've been gone. I want to let you know that I appreciate all the sweet comments you've written. It's very kind of you :) It really makes my day that much better when I read them. Right now we're at the port in Pireaus, Greece. We saw the Acropolis and spend some time wandering around the Plaka, shopping and having a drink. I will upload some pictures when I get back home. I've learned a lot about other countries, cultures and how other people live. Keep on entering my candy, the draw date is coming up! Time has really flown by for me! I hope you have been having a lovely summer and stay safe from the heat! Talk to you all soon!

I Love Trims and ribbons!

*This is a scheduled post* I love trims and ribbons so I had to add some to my candy, of course!  I went through my stash and I also picked some up at the little fabric store where I found the buttons.  Check out what I have to add:  *2 yards of each* *1 yard of chain by Blue Moon beads* *12 inches of each of the beaded fringe ribbons* *2 yards of Maya Road red pom pom trim*  This might be the last addition to my candy! I will do the draw the weekend after I get back from my vacation. The last day to enter is July 29. I'm so excited to do the draw! :D  I'll use Random.org.  Thank you for entering my candy, for following me and for all your lovely comments.  I'll have some more scheduled posts to keep my blog free of dust and spiderwebs 'till I get back ;) Good Luck to all!

Death Valley

The name doesn't do it justice! This place is wonderful! Here's a double page LO I made of our weekend in Death Valley. This was in December 2009! It's going to be 2 years already and we have been wanting to go back ever since! We wanted to go back in spring, it's only a 5 hour drive but we were so limited in time that it didn't happen in 2010 or 2011...maybe 2012 will be the year! I still have a few more pages to do about this trip...2 years later. LOL  I work with what inspires me at the time even if the pictures are years old. I don't stick to finishing an album about a certain trip or theme, because most of the time, I'm more excited and inspired about working with the new pictures. What's your system for scrapbooking your memories? Do you stick to one theme or one album or are you random like me? I used craft cardstock and Me and My Big Ideas Journey paper stack for the background papers. I sprayed the green and craft papers with smooch sprit...
