Counting blessings

Image
This thanksgiving we're grateful for this little girl. The journaling (on the tags behind the photo) talks about how hard it was for me to really enjoy a new baby. The lack of sleep was awful for me. But at the same time, I knew I had to enjoy those moments when she was tiny because she wouldn't always be that small. I kept telling myself 'it won't always be like this, she'll grow up too soon.' Before I knew it, I was really enjoying it. Even the late night feedings :-)  Life is very different this fall but we're grateful for all the blessings we've been given, especially this little one.  What are you thankful for?   I used the 6x6 vellum stack, premium papers, and a bit of the vintage collector embellishments to complete this LO.

Hello sunshine!

She makes me happy when skies are gray :-)  The premium papers make seriously frame worthy layouts. The texture and quality is different than scrapbooking papers. I would love to make a space in my house to display the LOs I make on open frames so the texture can really be appreciated.  What do you do with your LOs? Are they displayed at all before they go into albums?...Do they go into albums?  Have a wonderful day!

Love

You know those LOs I started in anticipation of baby pictures? Well, here's one I completed recently.    My favorite part, besides the photo is the embossed vellum from the 6x6 pad at Joann. That was fun to make and I love the way it looks.  Have you tried any of these premium papers or the vellum 6x6?

Yummy Layers

The specialty paper packs at Joann stores make exquisite layouts.  Here I mixed some of the specialty papers with the gold heart sheet from the  6x6 vellum pack. I distressed the pink vellum from the premium papers by making it into a ball and flattening it out again. I love the texture it adds to the layout.     On the LO below, I heat embossed the gold hearts and arrows onto a piece of plain vellum from the 6x6 vellum stack. Then I used various premium papers to create the layers that go behind the photo.  I love the background piece. It's a piece of vellum from one of the premium papers. It has gradated colors and I was just so obsessed with it, I had to use it whole as a background. I added a piece of shimmer white cardstock behind it to really show off the colors.  I used staples to attach the layers since I used so much vellum in the layers.    These are the beginnings of 2 LO's I crafted ahead of time in ...

November stack-a-holic challenge

Image
It's November already! Time is really flying...some days, it still feels like summer here in California. I missed traveling this year but I've been keeping busy re-living our travels by scrapping them! This one uses the November sketch for the stack-a-holic challenge over at DCWV .     I used the gilded paper stack and the air mail line to make a LO and a card. Love how these two look together.  Inside the air mail envelope is a map of London marked with where we stayed. It was a great stay and I can see myself living there.  The journaling talks about how fun it was to watch other tourists try to recreate the Abbey Road cover photo in a very busy intersection. There was a lot of honking! lol  Hope you can join us for the challenge this month :)
