I AM...

Image
So loved the I AM... collection from simple stories, I knew I had to have all the bits and pieces! I knew I wanted to use white paper and put a bunch of the cute products all over it! So here's one page all about me: I haven't decided if I'll be putting a border around this LO. Your thoughts are welcome! This photo was taken right after my MA degree graduation ceremony. I was feeling a lot of these things! I really like the photo stickers They kinda look like rub-ons...I didn't see rub-ons when I shopped. Did I miss them? or were they never made for this collection? I would have liked some.  Which collection are you loving right now? View blog post for supplies

That's a Wrap!

Hello! Today I want to share with you how I'm wrapping up gifts this Valentine's Day. I'm using the  DCWV Mailer boxes  you can find at JoAnn. These are the 5x7 kraft boxes and they're perfect for making small gifts and treats extra special. My husband gets the owl box: This is actually a DCWV Template. I used  Faber Castell Design Memory Craft Whipped Spackle . I love that stuff!  If you try this, do small sections at a time. Don't try to do a long swipe with the palette knife like I did or it'll get a little messy. You can use this technique with any DCWV templates you already have. I finished up the owl with a burlap heart from the 5 pack premium papers at JoAnn as well as  Heart adhesive mirrors  and  May Arts Ribbon . As you can see the owl itself is pretty versatile. My friend gets a more feminine gift box:  I used a simple doily as the base. Then, I di...

Need better planning...

Here's a LO from another time where our meals weren't planned well and we eneded up needing lunch around 3 in Bordeaux. Well, everything was closed until dinner, except this one Thai place.  We ended up having a good time taking photos and trying the house wine. I really do need better meal planning next time we're out of the country.  The journaling is hidden on the top film strip that says 'pull.'  I used the Shimelle collection still loving it and can't wait for her new 'True Stories' Line.

Happy days

My husband tried so hard to get these shots. He really wanted the bottom photo. The paint splatter paper wasn't really planned. I was just dripping paint on a paper for fun and to relax. I like the bokeh effect so I tried to recreate it with paint. I had the photos out on my desk and those little gold doilies were not used from another project, so they were on my desk too. It all came together *almost* by coincidence!   What have you been up to lately?

DCWV Stack-a-holic Challenge February

Image
Hey Stack-a-holics! Here's the sketch challenge for this month, heart themed, of course. These are Fabulous sketches by our very own Yolie!  Here's my take on the sketch. Perfect for documenting a new friendship :)  Yes, that's what we call the dogs at our house! Intrestingly enough, that's the baby talk word for dog in both Spanish and Chinese.  I chose the Honey Chic Stack because of the banners on the sketch. I remembered some of the prints had the Chevron design, which is very easily turned into a banner by snipping one of the chevrons off.  I so love Honey Chic!  Here's the card sketch also by Yolie :)  And here's my take on it:                                        Hope your month is off to a great start!
