  My husband collects things here and there...an interesting postage stamp, old coins, little notes I give him, etc. So I thought it would be nice to alter an Altoids tin for the bits and pieces he collects. When I showed  him the box...he wasn't as impressed as I thought...*sigh*...  Men!   ;) I like it, and I'll be looking at it, so that's what matters right!   I used DCWV's Juniper Berry stack in 6x6, the Cork stack and Adhesive Fabric stack. I love how the cork helps to give dimension to pretty much anything. I cut the banner from cork first and then topped it with adhesive fabric for a great 3D banner. The cogs are Maya Road pieces painted white with gesso and with Waterslide Tattered Angels mist.    He can stick little notes/tickets and such in the lid with this paper band I stapled  on the cork.  I used a little enamel brad to make it look like a pin on a cork board.  Here's the bottom and the si...

A LO so completely different for me inspired by the Unity Be Inspired Challenge .   This is so different than my usual style, it was fun to make something so different :)    We got to see an Aztec Sun Stone at the NY Museum of Natural History.  It was something I didn't expect to see. 

Who says 50 has to be drab?  My mom is a very youthful person and this card makes sense for her big B-day :)  The Birthday Wishes stacks 6x6 & 12x12 (border strips & numbers)  and Glitz coral chevron tape Inside is a simple strip from the 12x12 paper with borders.   The back is a beautiful pink. 

I made this plaque to inspire myself after my husband jokingly wrote 'What would Glitter Girl do?' on a note and put it on my desk. That came in handy when I needed inspiration so I decided to make it into a plaque. If you haven't met Glitter Girl, meet her here  :)   

A visit to Poe's house:     I love that background paper. Looked like a messy desk to me so I decided to make it look like a file on top of a desk. The Industrial Chic Stack is perfect to document our trip to Edgar Allen Poe's house in Philadelphia. Its full of writing and letters. The little Raven rub-on is from the Colorful Life embellishments.

This canvas is for my friend. She's the most amazing person I've met. I made her this for Valentine's day :   She can either display it on an easel or hang it on the wall.  I used DCWV's Solstice Stack which is at Joann's right now.  I started by covering the canvas in paint, first gold, then pink, then added the sheet of paper. I LOVE DCWV paper because I can do this:   This paper is from a different DCWV stack. Just for demonstration purposes ;)   I mist the back of the paper and let the water soak in for a second. While its wet, I rubb off most of the white. I'm left with the beautiful pattern. When you use it like this, the paper will be somewhat sheer and you will be able to see some of whatever you place behind it. I love the random small tears it gets because it shows more of the background through. I use gel medium to attach it to my canvas. But any clear glue that doesn't buckle the paper should do.
