Boo!

Image
Halloween is coming up soon. This card is for my friend's baby girl.  This will be her first Halloween. I bet she's going to be something adorable!    This is Spooky Time   I cut the fancy circles with my Artisan Explorer machine using stately circles dies.  I also used some May Arts twine and a Blumenthal Lansing button.

I Saw A Map

Image
On 07/13/11, the hubs and I were drinking a cappuccino on a cruise ship. We were on our way from Athens to Venice. We saw this at the bottom of our cup and we joked about it foretelling the future. I saw a map. I said 'traveling must be in our future!'  Two years later on 07/11/13 we were visiting Stonehenge. This was one of the places I always wanted to see!     This is for a scrapbooking class in which we experiment and discuss with our right brain/left brain tendencies. I'm 59% right brained according to an online test by the art institute and I've confirmed it throughout the class because dam! the left brain challenges are tough for me!    This is totally a right brain thing. I know only one of the pictures is from 2013 but I liked this 'twenty 13' with the 'such fun' so I used it on this LO. Why wait till next time I scrap 2013 pictures?!  Hope your week has been awesome! TGIF!

Collage LO Challenge

Image
Hey!  So I've been taking the art and science of scrapbooking over at big picture classes. One of the challenges was to make a photo collage to use on a LO. I really thought I was going to hate making a collage and scrapbooking it. It turns out I like it! I may start doing this more often.    See the zig zag path of green dots? That's how you walk when you have too many pints! lol Today was the Harvest Moon festival at one of the local parks and I saw a booth with these cuties.  That Adorable coral colored fox came home with me.  Check them out  http://loveanddumplings.com/shop/   https://www.facebook.com/LoveAndDumplings   What have you been up to lately?

True Love's Kiss

Image
Right out of Shrek, right? LOL  I had no idea how I was going to scrap this picture until I saw that little card in a cut apart sheet... I cut the 3 banners at different lengths and widths from neutral papers in the stack. Matted my picture and added the "True Love's Kiss" card as a pocket to hold hidden journaling. I added an old heart paperclip from my stash and some gold zig zag stitching.   My favorite card in the cut apart sheet.  I'm gonna make a card with this too ;) I love that I get 2 of everything in a stack! Another cut apart sentiment so it can 'hold up' the banners.  Some DCWV bling to finish it off.  This is Dark Romance    See you back here soon :)

Couldn't have planned it better myself!

When I saw this sheet in the 6x6 Kidosaurus stack, I knew which LO I was going to use it on :)  The planned LO was months away. We had just started planning our northern Europe vacation when I saw it. It was serendipity.  Due to a childhood obsession of mine, our first stop was Loch Ness. We stayed in a house with a view of the lake from the garden. It was beautiful!  The day we arrived, we hurried over to the Loch Ness Center.  We learned a lot of history and saw a great exhibit about the mythical monster. My husband has no such obsession. He just went along with it for me. LOL Afterwards we shopped for souvenirs, snapped pictures and we were ready to enjoy the rest of the highlands :)    If you pull the tab...   We found Nessie! lol  The Loch Ness center has this Nessie statue to make sure you don't go home disapointed.  You will get your picture of Nessie :)   The LO was super easy and I love how colorful it turned out.  I punched th

Leaving our mark on Abbey Road

Image
We wrote a little something on the Abbey Road Studios souvenir wall.  We're not huge fans of The Beetles but we understand the significance of this place  & our moms are big fans :)  This LO was based on this sketch:   This is September's Stackaholic sketch over at the DCWV blog . Hope you join in this month ;) This LO was VERY difficult for me! This sketch is totally NOT what I usually do! It's a grid! It's straight lines!  I usually skew everything and I think this is the first time I've used a grid!   So I skewed the layers within the different squares of the grid.  The pictures look busy and all the layering is really busy, so I typed the journaling on the post card  and it makes it much neater than if I had written it by hand.   Some details:      I used these DCWV stacks:  Thanks for looking!

THE White Space LO

Image
I like to try different styles once in a while. It keeps me from getting in a creative rut. I wanted to give LOs with a lot of white space a try. You can see my attempt here . I didn't end up with much white space at the end afterall! lol  So I tried again:  My blog friend Sue recently posted a LO, which uses a lot of white space but still has lots of details. I used her LO as inspiration and I think this attempt at having white space in a LO is what I was looking for. You can find  Sue's LO here .   These supplies are from my Pink Paislee warehouse sale box as well as chalkboard embossed stickers from WRMK and some WP pins I got in a sprinkles box :)   Hope you're having a great week!

I've had this mini album in my stash for years!

Image
(It's a Maya Road chipboard mini album)  I Didn't know what I was going to do with it until I saw this:    It was like a light bulb! LOL     Love that flower button. It's Blumenthal Lansing button. I'm sure you can find it at Joann's.  The leaf trim and lace is May Arts I stamped this page with the same stamp a few times without re-inking.  I also stamped a separate piece of paper and then inked here to get a lighter tone.  These 'thoughts...' tags come in the stack :) Another Blumenthal Lansing button I love. It makes me think of taking a nice walk in nature.  The Freshly Picked stack has a sheet of tags and journaling spots like this one.  They come all together in a strip and you can cut them apart. I wanted an expandable area to write on, so I folded the strip accordion style. I glued twine to the back so I could tie it up   This stack is just so pretty! It's exclusive to indep
