It's a Tradition!

Image
We dress up the dogs and take pictures every Christmas. They know they'll get some treats afterwards so they put up with it ;)  I REALLY really liked the pictures  from this last Christmas. So I'm still working on scrapping them whenever I'm in the mood to do a Holiday LO.  I used the new DCWV templates to do some of the background work.  The background is actually a sheet of bright green canvas with a sheet of white self adhesive fabric on top. It makes it a pretty minty green color :)  I used gesso with the frames template and  I used Tsukineko Goosebumps with the Quatrefoil template.  The goosebumps definitely work better on paper than they do on fabric but they still left a pretty shine. You can zoom in on the picture to get a better look It's right on the top and bottom of the Ho Ho Ho paper.  The different textures just add a little something to the LO.  This was going to be just a LO but there was so ...

Templates and Sharpies

So DCWV has these new templates that I was really excited to use.  A while back I used colored pencils and a stencil to make this LO :    When I saw the DCWV templates I had a similar idea, but this time, I used the DCWV White Board stack and Sharpies to create this card that looks like it was hand drawn on a white board. I made the card base with a sheet from the Honey Chic stack. I like the way the diagonal stripes frame the card.  Thanks for visiting!

No Journaling Needed!

I think the cut out words say it all :)   This is the Gilded Paper stack and the cut out words come from the Goodwood stack. I used some DCWV bling in little hearts too. Don't worry about the dogs, they got plenty of treats after the photo shoot and I think they thought it was worth it!

Hey Sailor!

I love the text on these cards. There are so many more of them that I want to include on a LO!   The Hey Sailor stack also has a couple pages of  A2 size cards you can cut and fold. I used the 'Celebrate' card here and turned it into an interactive element. I got inspired by my team mate  Karen Hansen  , who often makes interactive LOs. I used it to include my journaling and one more photo.    I also used the 6x6 Foiled stack to make some accents.  Happy Valentine's Day!

One Giant Sequoia Stump

Image
I needed lots of room for journaling on here. I used 2 journaling cards and one hidden behind the photo with the yellow tab. There are actually stairs to go up the stump. According to the guides at Sequoia National Park, dances were hosted on this stump. It is very possible once you get up there. It's pretty darn giant.  There was a family there, grandparents and all. The grandma gave us this idea of holding hands so we could illustrate the size of the stump and the grandpa took the picture.    I think this is one place in the US that is definitely worth visiting. The tab behind the photo talks about how sections of this tree were taken on exhibition around the country. No one could believe that these giant trees really existed and it became known as the California hoax. Once you've been there you can understand the skepticism!
