DCWV and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft
I'm so excited about this blog hop! I've loved Faber-Castel products for a long time and it was so much fun to combine them with my favorite DCWV textures.
There’s some great prizes too- Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft and DCWV will be giving away $75 in product at the end of the hop. To win, follow the list below and leave a comment. The hop will end at 5PM EST on Friday, March 28th. The winner will be announced on Monday, March 31st on each of the company’s blogs.
I really wanted a special page for these pictures. They give me a very HAPPY feeling and I love the sun rays coming through the trees. I wanted to mimic that in the background paper. I thought the woven craft cardstock was a great background because its a little less stark than white for these pictures.
I wanted the journaling to be more private so I made it a pull tab behind this cut out tag from the Bohemian Sunrise stack.
To make the background I used a DCWV Template and Woven paper along with Faber-Castel Gelatos, whipped spackle and metallic pens.
I used an old gift card to spread the spackle over the stencil. Once it was dry, I made some lines radiating from the center using gelatos. Then with a brush and some water, I went over the gelato lines and turned them into watercolors.
I outlined some circles with a metallic pen.
So happy!
I tried a couple other things too. Some chalkboard paint on white woven paper, doodled with metallic pens.
But it cracked, so I didn't want to use it with a photo. I'll save it for another project. I'm thinking a collage of things I love :) I think if I had used a smooth paper and/or less paint it wouldn't have cracked. But I do like the cracked look...
The next thing I tried was to shave a bit of gelato and mix it into the whipped spackle.
I just used my brush handle.
Then I spread it over a DCWV flourish template. Looks just like icing!
Love the soft and pretty look on this DCWV adhesive fabric.
Now I have another background to play with later ;)
