DCWV & Hampton Art Bloghop Day 1
DCWV and Hampton Art are two companies that go above and beyond to provide a wide selection of products from classic, to vintage, to trendy and modern. So, when we decided to team up it was only natural that we would want to show you some variety.
Day #1 of our hop is all about vintage! Whether you are talking lace and pearls and soft weathered colors or distressed, grungy, and aged, if you love all things vintage we have some beautiful projects to show you today!
Here's the list of blogs you'll be visiting today, in case you get lost:
Karla Der ( http://madebykarla10.blogspot.com/ ) <-----------You are here
----------->
If you have come here from Beverly Sizemore then you're on track! If not, you should go back to the DCWV blog and start the hop from there!
For my project I used the Heirloom Christmas stack by DCWV as well as Christmas stamps and inks by Hampton Art. I've included the pictures of the products at the bottom for your convenience.
To make the LO, I distressed pretty much everything! I bent the edges of the papers with my fingers, then I sanded them and added gold from the basics ink pads. The ribbon is crochet trim that is also distressed with gold ink. The heart is a wood veneer piece distressed with Triumphant Red ink.
I incorporated the stamps in my LO as accent pieces here and there (can you spot them?).
I also made a border out of the Peppermint candy stamps, then cut it apart and used it in a few places on my LO as a repeating element.
This is a quick way to make a gift bag pretty and harder to peek into! It's a 12x12 paper with a slit in the middle as wide as the gift bag handles. I slid it over the top and there, a pretty cover. Just secure the bottom of the paper to the bag with a couple glue dots.
Then I made this tag to go with it. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils. If you're impatient like me, and you don't wait for the ink to dry completely, it will smudge and give you an even more vintage look. Like your tag has been around a while ;) Use some pretty trim and seam binding and you're done!
I think that ballerina image is just beautiful! It can be versatile too. I see myself using it for LOs and cards throughout the year.
DCWV and Hampton Art are giving away awesome prizes during the blog hop. Leave me a comment, the more blog posts you comment on, the more chances you have to win ;) Plus I would LOVE to know you were here and be able to visit you back.
3 winners will receive a holiday paper goodie box from DCWV!
Now go on to Gloria Stengel ( http://www.gloriascraps.blogspot.com/ ) to continue the hop :)
