Spring Fling Blog Hop
This week, DCWV and Tombow have teamed up to spread a little bit of spring fever. Both design teams are excited to show you just what we have done with the My Sunshine and Chickadee stacks from DCWV, and some amazing adhesive products from Tombow.
If you have come here from Marie's blog then you're on track!
I decided to make a mini book using both stacks. This one is for my nephew. Every time we tell him to say 'cheese' for the camera, he comes up with a new face :) It's adorable and it's about time I document it too.
I used the Tombow Dot Stamp Roller to adhere mostly everything in the mini. I have to confess that I will be keeping this little tool on my desk from now on. I love how easy it is to get glue dots on small details. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortably it fits in my hand too. It's awesome :))

I stitched over the see-through title but used dots from the stamp roller to keep the letters on the paper while I sewed. |
Love the beautiful edges of the chickadee stack :) |
This was seriously my nephew's "cheese" face for a while :)) |
Love the new DCWV envelopes and pockets! I put a picture of one of his first "school projects" from his toddler class. |
I like to fussy cut usually while I watch TV, as you can see I fussy cut quite a few pieces from the chickadee stack. |
I used the Tombow Power Tabs to put the banner together before sticking it on the front cover. I love the subtle dimension they give. Since they can hold heavier embellishments, they're so versatile. Dimension and strength ;)
I'm not a fan of liquid glue. I use tape/dot adhesive almost exclusively. But I got the Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue and I'm so excited to say, I will be keeping this around too! I spread a thin layer of glue on the envelope tab and let it dry. When its dry, it becomes removable. It's tacky like a post it! now I can open & close the envelope! genius :)
Of course if you stick the papers to each other while the glue is wet, it's permanent.
If you're wondering how I made the mini, I just folded in half pages from My Sunshine to 6x12, then cut them to 6x8. This allowed me to sew and put brads through the My Sunshine pages without it showing on the page behind it. Then I used the Tombow liquid glue to adhere the folded pages. Throughout the mini, I also used pages from Chickadee (which is double sided!) and cut those to 6xa little less than 8" (so the pretty edge would show against the paper underneath).
Hope you Enjoyed your Visit! Come back soon :)
Now, head on over to Emily to see what kind of spring craftiness she has in store!
